Carolyn's Courses at Capella University 2004-current
Special Note on new changes:
I was accepted into the Doctoral progarm at Capella in July of 2004 where I completed my comprehensive exams up to the Dissertation Proposal stage until recently I found out that Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD - my "Dream University" since 1995!) has an Master's of Fine Arts program (terminal degree for Designers/Artists) in Graphic Design offered ONLINE!. In addition to that, being a full time educator, I had the opportunity to get a 50% scholarship from SCAD. Upon submission of my application & portfolio evaluation, I received confirmation news in May, 2007 that I was accepted into SCAD with a 50% Scholarship award (Yes!). In regards to Capella University, I have decided to continue my Doctoral program with them at a later stage. Instead of a Doctoral degree, I now have a Master of Science specializing in Instructional Design for Online Learning completed in September, 2007.
This was indeed not an easy decision to switch programs, but I had to decide what was best for my (my passion) and my students. I know my changed of focus will not only benefit me as an instructor but most important - my students when I can impart to them additional and quality skills & knowledge from the Design field.
